Teachings on "Aspiration"

Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

NEW DATES:

Friday 22nd thru Sunday 24th August 2008

__________________________________________________

We are honored and delighted that Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, renowned Buddhist master and film-maker (The Cup and Travellers and Magicians) and author of 'What Makes You Not a Buddhist', is coming to the Padmasambhava Peace Institute this August and will offer three days of teachings.

REGISTRATION

NEW REGISTRATIONS -- PLEASE NOTE THAT REMAINING PLACES ARE LIMITED, due to most of the 2007 retreatants not requesting a refund. There are still some spaces left in the dormitories and for day-only. There are no camping spaces left.

PREVIOUS REGISTRATIONS -- If you registered for 2007 and did not request a refund, your registration for 2008 remains in place. At this point, you do not need to contact us to confirm that you wish to attend in 2008.

For the 2008 event, the same rates as for the 2007 event apply. However, because the 2008 event will be for three full days, not two-and-a-half as in 2007, and because not everyone was registered for the full 2007 event, some payment adjustments may be required. We will contact retreatants about this later.

If you have any questions abot these arrangements, please email atiling@hotmail.com, and allow some days for a response, as we have limited numbers of staff available to work on registration at present. Thank you!

The Khyentse lamas are a lineage of reincarnate lamas who include such exceptional masters as the 19th-century scholar and mystic Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. The present Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche (Thubten Chokyi Gyamtso) was born in 1961.

He was recognized by His Holiness Sakya Trizin, and received empowerments and teachings from many of the greatest lamas of Tibetan Buddhism, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, H.H. 16th Karmapa and his own grandfather H.H. Dudjom Rinpoche. His main guru was Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and he further studied with more than 25 great lamas from all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

While still a teenager, he was responsible for publishing many rare texts that were in danger of being lost entirely, and in the the 1980s, he began the restoration of Dzongsar Monastery in Tibet. He has established several colleges and retreat centers in India and Bhutan. In accordance with the wishes of his teachers, he has travelled and taught throughout the world, establishing dharma centers in Australia, Europe, North America and Asia. His organization Siddhartha's Intent organizes Rinpoche's teachings, while the Khyentse Foundation is dedicated to providing for the needs of Rinpoche's responsibilities.

In this time when the traditional structures of Tibetan Buddhism are facing challenges, and when Buddhism is reaching new audiences, Rinpoche is known for the freedom with which he moves between cultures and people, and his uncompromising dedication to bringing the philosophy and the path of enlightenment to anyone with an open heart. For more details on Rinpoche's activities and his schedule, see www.siddharthasintent.org.
